Eden to open town centre cafe

St Austell's White River Development will soon play host to Eden's new sustainable and low carbon cafe. The Eden Project plans to open the cafe in the town centre in the next few weeks.
The new Eden cafe is to sell locally sourced, seasonal food and drink products — and will also stage music and comedy performances, plays, talks and art displays.
The cafe itself covers a total floor area of 346 square metres over two levels, with seating for up to 80 people.
Eden applied for the premises licence at the end of August and plan to open the cafe later this year.
Peter Stewart, Campaigns and Communications Director at the Eden Project, told the Voice: “We are still finalising our plans and have applied for a premises licence for the new Eden cafe.
“We hope the cafe would be a space where the community could come together, find out and talk about sustainable living and enjoy activities and entertainment which are novel and educational.”
It is hoped that the cafe will act as a link between Eden's home at Bodelva and White River, their nearest major shopping centre.
The Voice also understands that Eden are hoping to import their popular Eden Cafe concert evenings to the town centre venue.

Since they are likely to be evening performances, it might be a good idea for other traders to negotiate later opening hours as well. |
