THE NEW St Austell town centre development is filling up fast following the announcement of an opening date for two more retailers.Thorntons chocolate shop along with Card Bar, which sells greetings cards, will be unveiled in White River Place on Friday, September 10. The outlets will both occupy the same vacant unit next to Game, which will create a number of new jobs.
The launch of Thorntons and Card Bar follows the opening of a number of businesses in the town centre redevelopment in recent weeks, which includes TK Maxx, Costa Coffee and Yeomans Outdoor Leisure.
Claire Daniel, centre manager at White River Place said, "We can confirm that Card Bar and Thorntons are due to open a joint store at White River Place on September 10.
"We are delighted to welcome these great names to St Austell, complementing the other retailers at White River Place including TK Maxx which opened last month.
"This is great news for White River Place and for St Austell as a whole and serves as a strong indication of continued interest from national and regional retailers in the centre."
Thorntons was first established in 1911. A spokesman for Thorntons and Card Bar, said: "Thorntons is where you can treat yourself to top quality chocolates from a fantastic collection of exquisite milk and dark chocolates to suit all tastes together with personalised gifts. Located in the same unit is Card Bar where you will find cards for every occasion."
