DOG TALES: Author Ruth Symes and Labradors meet local school children

Top selling award winning children’s author Megan Rix popped into Bishop Bronescombe School last week, alongside her beloved Labradors Traffy and Bella that feature heavily in her canine-themed adventure stories.

Joining the Bishop Bronescombe intake were fellow pupils from their Multi Academy Trust including Grampound with Creed, Grampound Road, Veryon and Ladock.

Ruth Symes wrote her first novel under her pen name Megan Rix after becoming a ‘puppy parent’ for assistance dogs.

That resulted in The Puppy That Came for Christmas, published by Penguin.
Since then, Ruth has continued to write under her pseudonym with a range of stories based around animals.

She’s also written a series of books about a witchling called Bella Donna for Piccadilly, this time under her own name, Ruth Symes.
