Woman who died in horror crash named
The scene of the accident

POLICE have named the woman who died when a car collided with 22 vehicles parked at Andrew Toms Cars off the A390 at Hewas Water.

Kelly Pearce, 40, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the collision on June 25. She was local to the area.

The male driver was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, where he remains with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called just after 9.45pm to reports of a collision involving a black Vauxhall Vectra Saloon car.

The car was travelling from the St Austell area in the direction of Truro and left the carriageway. The vehicle collided with 22 cars parked on the garage’s forecourt.

The road was closed for eight hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene.
Police from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of a black coloured Vauxhall Vectra in the Hewas Water area around 9.45pm that evening.

Officers also want to speak to anyone who stopped at the scene of the collision to assist, leaving before the arrival of the police.

Please email 101@dc.police.uk or call 101, quoting incident number 0981 of 25/06/17.
