Lillywhites look to promotion

ST AUSTELL have signaled their intentions to bring South West peninsula premier league football to St Austell after applying for promotion from division one west.
The Lillywhites who climbed to the top of the table with a win over Hayle this weekend decided to apply for promotion at a committee meeting on Thursday night and are set to put in planning permission for floodlights at Poltair Park.
The decision to apply for promotion was unanimously decided at the recent committee meeting and if they can keep up their recent fine form they can look forward to a potential battle with Perranporth for not just the division one west title but also promotion into the premier league

Goals from the returning Daniel Nancarrow and Mike Body allowed for the Lillywhites to claim a two-goal victory at home to Hayle and move two points clear of promotion rivals Perranporth, whose game at Foxhole was postponed.
“It was agreed at a committee meeting on Thursday to apply for promotion and we’ve got planning permission going in to put floodlights up and you can see all of the improvements all around the ground and we want to get up into the premier league,” said St Austell manager Andy Dingle.

Speaking about the win against Hayle Dingle added: “It was a very enjoyable game, not perfect conditions but credit to all the lads I thought the performance was good.
“We’ve not played for a while but I thought our fitness was spot on.”
The club now have an anxious wait until April when they’re ground will undergo ground grading inspections by the league to see whether they can win promotion into the premier league.
