A summer festival of fun and music took place in St Blazey at the weekend to celebrate forces veterans, their families and the community. Vets Fest 2021 was held at St Blazey Football Club on Saturday and saw the community enjoy a day filled with food, music, dancing and fun.
The event was born from an idea from the Par Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club, which is held on the first Saturday of every month in Par.
Organiser Charlotte Olford said: “What an amazing day. The months of prep definitely paid off. The best thing about today was seeing people enjoy themselves.
“The fund-raising is an added bonus. To those that said they could and did, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. “
“My ideas don’t always work, but today proved that if you believe, you can conquer anything. So for those people that believed thank you.”
Cornwall councillor for St Blazey, Pauline Giles, said “Well done, Charlotte and your team, after being locked down for so long it was lovely to see people out, laughing and enjoying other’s company.”
“Thanks for all your hard work.”
